Miss W’s first boudoir session.

My first holiday boudoir session of 2017 and the introduction of the curtain of lights.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The temperature is dropping, Christmas lights are going up, and holiday boudoir sessions are in full swing. Miss W certainly got into the spirit of things with her recent yule-inspired boudoir session.

This year I’m introducing something new. I’m calling it the curtain of lights. If you know me, you know I’m all about the magical glow of Christmas lights. If I could, I’d leave them up all year. This might actually give me the opportunity to do just that.

Miss W was gracious enough to allow me to test out my idea during our session. I was so stunned by the results that I immediately ran out and bought more of them as soon as we were done. How much more? Well, let’s just say that I have achieved Clark Griswold levels as I’ve popped the circuit breaker a couple times already.

The results were amazing. I got several shots that I’ve never gotten before. The backdrop of sparkling, warm, luminous glow complimented Miss W perfectly. She was amazing. The session was light hearted and fun with hints of naughtiness that might have made Santa recheck his list.

So many ideas were generated by the session that we’ve already decided to go again to try and capture them. I actually went back out a third time to get more items to try those out as well. I’m seriously tempted to do ugly Christmas sweater shots, for example.

I still offer the other boudoir styles found here, by the way. We can do Light Side, Dark Side or a mix of the two. The holiday spin is just another layer of playtime that I offer. Whichever way you want to play, contact me today for your holiday session.

Shawna’s Virginia Beach boudoir session.

“Doing a boudoir session should be something you choose to do for yourself.” – Shawna.

Every boudoir photography site I’ve seen always starts out with the premise that you should do a boudoir session “for that special someone.” Well, you know what? I’m going to buck against that. You know what I think? I think the most important reason why a woman should consider doing a boudoir session is to do it for themselves.

You DO matter, you ARE worth it, and you ABSOLUTELY deserve it. Empower yourself.

My return to form.

The greatest work of art is the human body and I love honoring it.

When I started my photographic journey one of the genres I was attracted to was using the human body as a landscape. There was, and still is, this pull to explore all the peaks and valleys created by the intersection of a body and  light. The creases and textures just pop.

The best thing is that, since every body is different, each body brings something different to the table. Each of use has a different build and different proportions to be sure. That alone makes each subject unique. A little more here, a little less there equates to endless variations. Add to that the fact that different areas of our bodies provide different textures.

New Dark Side images and a question.

Exploring new things and looks.

It’s been a while since I’ve updated. Life, as always, steps in whenever it wants without so much as a “If you please”. Also, as most of you know, a lot of my work in this area is “eyes only” to a special someone or for the client themselves. So, I offer my apologies for the lack of new images and offer up the following set for your viewing pleasure.

As you might have noticed, the look of this page has changed. I’m exploring new layouts. Looks that are more befitting the work presented. I want the entire site to be more unified, more cohesive to the idea of sensuality. There will be more changes as I wade through the sea of page layouts to find the one I like the most.

Local fitness enthusiast/model Geraci J leaves me speechless after her boudoir session.

She proves that fit women are sensual women.

I make it well known that there is no “ideal” age or fitness level when it comes to doing a boudoir session. Everyone has the ability to create amazing images. All it takes is a little faith in the right photographer. I’ve made it my goal to show exactly that.

Geraci (https://www.instagram.com/juniper_geraci/) recently reached out to me about working together. She is a woman of a certain age. Don’t bother guessing, I promise you, you won’t get it. She’s also a fitness enthusiast who works hard to look like she does.

Returning to Form.

It’s good to be home.

I love being a photographer. It is, in all honesty, my life. If I’m to be even more honest, there are certain topics that I love shooting more than others. I love working with people more than, say take traditional landscapes. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good landscape. Working with people, however, reaches a deeper level of satisfaction.

For me, artistically, black and white form work is my personal acme. It is where I open up and do my best work.

Even the act of photographing it elevates my spirit to a higher plane. All the distractions and white noise of daily life fade away. My mind, which is usually a jumbled mess of a thousand things fighting for my attention at once, goes quiet. I am completely and totally in the present with my focus tuned into a patch of skin a few inches across but really represents it’s own landscape.

Things are getting edgier here.

The following post might raise some eyebrows. That is my goal.

Sorry for the absence. The Valentine’s Day crunch took up all my free time. Mind you, I’m not complaining at all. I’m just now turning the corner and getting back to a normal routine of posts. Thank you for being patient. I hope the following was worth the wait.

I don’t think the images that follow should surprise anyone. The recent trend in my work has been more into the dark and mysterious. More visceral. More elemental. More sensual. There are so many paths to explore when it comes to sensuality. I’ve been fighting the urge to go down them but I’ve conceded that it is inevitable. So down the rabbit hole we go.
