This one of those entries where I step back and let the person in front of the camera talk. Full disclosure – I’ve known Miss W for several years now as a fellow photographer and friend but this is the first time I’ve worked with her in this manner.
What a great way to start the new year!
For years I’ve always been on the other side of the camera, like Mark, being the photographer. I love well-done and tasteful boudoir as it can be so many different views: elegant, sexy, fun, sensual, and so forth.
I’ve always been hesitant to be the model instead of the photographer as I wasn’t totally comfortable with my body. But the past 6 months I’ve made health related changes which helped get myself to a point of higher self esteem. So, I decided to do a session to celebrate the progress I’ve made.
Mark helped ease my concerns and anxiety, over and over, even up to the day and time of our session. We started out with easy things I was comfortable with and as the session went along Mark was able to help me relax more and have a lot of fun!
He helps you through the whole session, with useful hints and tips for poses, looks, breathing, props, etc, without directing you what to do. After all, the session is about you being you and having fun!
In the end I received a great deal more photos than I anticipated and I couldn’t be happier with them! I see myself in a whole new light. My partner was super pleased with them, saying he was glad that I could finally see myself the way he always does – happy, confident, fun, sexy, beautiful.
I’m actually planning my next session already!
Carly Vega was absolutely awesome with my hair and makeup! A fantastic suggestion from Mark if you need help with both or either (like I did!).
Me again. This is exactly why I do what I do. I truly believe everyone deserves to feel good about themselves. This feeds my soul. I am humbled and honored that people like Miss W entrust me to create these images.
