Just a little hint of things to come.
Every woman should have the opportunity to be photographed by this man at least once in her lifetime. In fact, every person should.
Anyone who knows me, knows I’m not the girlie type. So when Mark first approached me and said he had to have my eyes in his portfolio my response was “When I get back into lifting we can totally do a fitness shoot.” Because that’s where I’m comfortable. I’m comfortable doing my gym thing and having someone take pictures. He said let me shoot art …with you, and we can do that when your healthy again.
Yeah, that was a very unexpected surprise. I had known of Paige for several years as we worked in the same circles but we had never met, much less worked together. She was always on my wish list of people I wanted to work with but things never aligned properly. Then she decided it was time to hang up her posing outfits.
Damn, I thought. A missed opportunity.
Segue to three years later. Thanks to the miracle of social media we find each other. We start chatting and, of course, the conversation eventually comes around to modeling. I put it out there that I would love to work with her sometime, that she was on my “wish list”. She surprises me with an immediate “yes.” She said it was time for her to get back into modeling.
Think about this – did we ever get the best results after we try something for the first time? Did any of us nail riding a bike on our first try? Driving a car? Cooking a new dish?
No, of course not. There’s always the fear of trying something new. There’s always so many concerns and doubts. Confidence is lacking. Then there’s the Big Unknowns.
Well, its the same for posing for a session. Most of the time spent during an initial session with someone is showing them the ropes, selecting outfits that accent their positive features, teaching them poses, and most importantly, helping them relax and get into the flow of things.
Just wanted to take a moment to show you all that I’m still here and kicking. Took me a bit to make the move and then Oscar and I went home to upstate New York for Thanksgiving weekend.
Today was the first time I got to use my new space for a sensual session. I had concerns going into it as I’d never shot here before and wasn’t sure what was going to happen. Long story short – DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here’s a taste of things to come. Stay tuned for updates from my last sessions at the old place followed by images from today’s session with Samantha.
